Launched in November 2006, Ethicalsuperstore.com is a ground breaking internet business. The online shop lists over 3,500 fair trade, organic and eco-friendly products - the widest range available in the UK. Ethicalsuperstore.com is operated by PointOV Ltd, an ethical trading company established in 2003. The company also provides e-commerce services, fulfilment and wholesale products to leading brands and ethical trading companies. PointOV is passionate about people, honest in all aspects of its approach and visionary in the e-commerce leadership it provides. With a staff team of 26, the company is growing at 300% a year.
We are looking to appoint an admin assistant in the Finance Team, which currently consists of an accountant and Finance Director.
Key responsibilities are:
- Maintenance of daily book-keeping, including posting sales and purchase invoices, cashbook, supplier payments and banking.
- Liaison with colleagues in the buying and stock control teams to ensure accurate accounting for stock purchases and month-end values.
- Assisting with preparation of monthly reconciliations.
- Assisting with preparation of monthly and ah-hoc management accounts.
- Preparation of invoices and customer statements.
- Credit checking for Wholesale customers.
- Maintenance and accounting for petty cash within the business.
- Assistance with year-end preparation for annual audit.
- Carrying out other duties which may or may not be related to the job, as reasonably requested by management
Other Tasks
- Working closely with the Finance Director on projects in line with the business’ evolving needs.

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- AAT intermediate or higher.
- Experience of working in a small Finance Team.
- Computer Literate.
Desirable
- Experience working in a B2C e-commerce environment.
- Experience working with ethical products (fair trade, eco, organic, etc.)
- Experience with Sage accounting software.
Personal Qualities
- Able to take responsibility and self-manage.
- Able to cope with change and stressful situations.
- Sympathy with the PointOV mission and goals.
- The desire to grow and develop personally.
