After moving from the U.S. to England in 2002, Vic spent a year as an executive consultant for Traidcraft, the U.K.’s leading fair trade organisation, before starting-up PointOV. Previously, Vic was co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of oneNest Inc., a B2B e-commerce company selling fair trade gifts and crafts to wholesale buyers. Based in New York City and adhering to a socially responsible business model, oneNest also provided e-commerce marketplace services to buyers and independent producers from around the world.

In establishing the business, Vic wrote the initial business plan, invested seed capital, and helped raise institutional venture capital. Vic was responsible for all aspects of oneNest's web-related activities and operations, including the development of commercial and creative partnerships with organisations and small producers in over 20 countries. oneNest was sold in December 2003 to Novica United http://www.novica.com, the fair trade merchandise venture which operates in association with National Geographic Society.

Before oneNest, Vic had over 15 years professional and new venture development experience, including being an initial member of the largest global strategy consultancy start-up in the 90's. Vic’s career has also included stints with the Federal Reserve Bank and IBM. Vic received a BSc in MIS and Finance (summa cum laude, 1st in class) from Northeastern University, Boston , Massachusetts and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

 

Andy Redfern andy@pointov.com

Previously International Director for Traidcraft, the U.K. 's leading fair trade organization. Andy is an executive with a proven track record of business development, operations and technology management, as well as strong leadership and entrepreneurial instincts.

After joining Traidcraft in 1996, Andy was instrumental in doubling Traidcraft's turnover to approximately £14 million in 2003/4, and was responsible for a staff of 70 employees and activities including in-country sourcing and product design and development, local producer support, and international and U.K. supply management.

Andy oversaw the development of Traidcraft's e-commerce system, and is proficient with SQL, VBScripts, PHP, HTML, networking and Microsoft server management. During his tenure with Traidcraft, Andy was integral to Traidcraft raising £3.25 million in a new share capital issuance in 2003 and served two years as non-executive Director of Cafédirect Ltd, the largest fair trade coffee company in the U.K, in the run up to its successful £5 million share issue.

Before Traidcraft, Andy was a technology journalist, including a stint as Editor-in-Chief of Ziff Davis UK 's PC Magazine, the largest U.K. subscription business magazine at the time. Andy received a BSc (Hons) in Electronic Engineering from Warwick University and a Certificate in Management (Distinction) from Colchester Institute.
